Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Vigilon is operated by Cimply Tech, based in Québec, Canada. This notice explains what information we collect when you visit vigilon.io or use the Vigilon service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information we collect
What we collect depends on how you interact with Vigilon.
- Visiting the site. Our servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested). The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies — see "Cookies and analytics" below.
- Joining the waitlist. Your email address, which we use to contact you about access to Vigilon and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Booking a demo. Your name, email address, and anything you add to the booking. Scheduling is handled by Cal.com, which stores the booking and sends the calendar invite to you and to us.
- Contacting us. Your name, email address, and your message, which we use only to reply to you. The message is delivered to our inbox by Resend, our email provider.
- Creating an account. Your name, email address, and workspace details. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider.
- Subscribing to a plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, billing status, and billing contact details — we never see your full card number.
- Using the product. The telemetry your applications send to Vigilon: error reports, traces, endpoint metrics, and background-job data.
Cookies and analytics
We use Plausible to measure aggregate website traffic. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, and its analytics data is processed and stored in the EU.
The public Vigilon website does not use advertising cookies. The Vigilon application uses authentication cookies provided by Clerk to sign users in, maintain their sessions, and protect the service from abuse. These cookies are required for the application and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
The demo booking page embeds a scheduling widget from Cal.com. Inside that widget, Cal.com sets a short-lived security cookie on its own domain to protect its service from automated abuse. It is not used for analytics or advertising, and nothing about your visit is shared with Cal.com until you book a time.
The application also stores functional information in your browser, such as theme and navigation preferences, telemetry filters, and, where applicable, a temporary invitation token. This information supports features you request and is not used for advertising.
Telemetry your applications send
You control what your applications send to Vigilon. Telemetry can include personal information if your systems include it — a user ID in an error report, for example. Configure your instrumentation to avoid transmitting personal information that is not needed for monitoring. We process telemetry to provide the monitoring service and retain it according to your Vigilon plan. The current standard retention periods are 30 or 60 days.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide and operate the Vigilon service,
- contact you about your waitlist signup, demo booking, account, or changes to the service,
- handle billing,
- keep the service secure and prevent abuse,
- meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to operate Vigilon: Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage, ClickHouse Cloud for telemetry storage, Plausible for cookieless site analytics, Cal.com for demo scheduling, and Resend for sending email. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services to us.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
Where your data is stored
Vigilon runs on Amazon Web Services, and telemetry is stored in ClickHouse Cloud. Demo bookings are processed by Cal.com in the United States. Depending on where you are, your information may be stored or processed outside your province or country. Wherever it is processed, it remains covered by this notice and by our agreements with our providers.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is restricted.
We keep account information while your account is active, telemetry for the 30- or 60-day period included with your plan, and your waitlist email until we launch or you unsubscribe. When an account closes, we delete or de-identify information that is no longer required, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent where our processing relies on consent, or ask us to delete information that is no longer required. Email privacy@vigilon.io. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy law, including Québec's Law 25 and PIPEDA. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will post the updated version here with a new date. For material changes, we will notify account holders by email.
